Nehemiah 1-4


 although Ezra the scribe and Nehemiah, the tirshatha , we’re never crowned as kings, and never commanded, armies, conquered any kings, or was famed for philosophy, yet both of them were prior spraying men, and very serviceable in their day, to both church and God. Both having interest in religion, were great men, honorable by those who knew them.


The book of Nehemiah seems to be a book of history, history of the children of captivity, the poor Jews but as of late return out of Babylon to their own land.

Nehemiah 4:7-9 NIV

“But when Sanballat, Tobiah, the Arabs, the Ammonites and the people of Ashdod heard that the repairs to Jerusalem's walls had gone ahead and that the gaps were being closed, they were very angry. They all plotted together to come and fight against Jerusalem and stir up trouble against it. But we prayed to our God and posted a guard day and night to meet this threat.”


In the above passage Nehemiah first prayed. He didn’t just post guards all over the place and hoped for the best. He didn’t just jump in and decide what to do based on what he “thought” God wanted him to do. The above verse says, “we prayed to our Go…

I think my prayers are quite different as well. Now I seem to have more of a conversation, some questions and some just describing the understanding that I have currently with where I’m at. I guess thinking maybe God will see my confusion. And help send me some thing that will give me better site to where I’m going and what I’m doing. I like your site on this. I do think he was a very devout and praying individual.

I really do like the lessons from doing this, reading the Bible in sections, and then reflecting on each section. Can’t wait to see what happens when we’re done and start all over again you have a wonderful day and…
