1. In a pluralistic, multi religious age like ours why is “testing the spirits “ a necessary thing to do? How do we go about doing it?

I think it’s extremely important, during interactions with other people, claiming relationships with God, and to follow them. To test them. ! I was found the best way to find some thing out. Just ask a lot of questions. Be present with them challenge them , challenge their beliefs.
I think anybody that is close to God, and is truthful about their relationship with God. Doesn’t mind being questioned. And wouldn’t mind being helpful and explaining themselves to be sure that you’re not following a false prophet…
Question 1.
Today, my source of reference is the Bible. When I was in my early 20's, I got involved in the "New Age" movement. I was influenced by a group of "well-meaning" people....or so I thought. If I knew more about the Bible then, I would not have been fooled.
Question 2-
Tradition, reason and experience can be tricky depending on your upbringing and the influences in your life. What is "reason" to one person may be different to another. Without a Christian upbringing tradition means something different than it does to a Christian.
