Devotional Life in WT_Day 19

Day 19 : Purposeful Reading

Reflecting and Recording

  1. What was the most challenging part of today’s reading for you? Why?

  2. How have you sought to practice Wesley’s principle of personal and full (teaching others your learnings) application in your devotional life?

Relating

In his book How to Give Away Your Faith, Paul Little provides seven

questions to help us see if we are reading the Bible in ways that will enable us

to make it applicable to our lives. As you read the following questions, identify

the points you seek readily in your Bible reading and which ideas you need to

focus on more diligently :

  1. Is there an example for me to follow?

  2. Is there a sin for me to avoid?

  3. Is there a command for me to obey?

  4. Is there promise for me to claim?

  5. What does this passage teach me about God or Jesus Christ?

  6. Is there a difficulty for me to explore?

  7. Is there something in this passage I should pray about today?

A person who is absolutely confident in their status can come across as arrogant or bullying. I’m being a very confident individual and aware of such application. So I’m very careful and cautious, especially when it comes to the word of God. As I am just a novelist…

Relating:

I can't see how I can answer this as it all comes together when I read, study and share. That's why meditation is so important to me. It brings what I study into focus. I always look for God's promises in my study. I also use more than one translation if I need further clarification, but I'm very careful in what translation I use so as not to see something that rea…
