What part of today’s reading spoke the most to you? Why do you think this is important?
Yesterday you reflected on the significant difference between having a devotional time and living a devotional life. Do you see any ways that the larger perspective of a devotional life could have spared Wesley from what he recorded on his chart during his devotional times?

Question 1-Slipping into a negative pattern of self-examination. In AA I was taught that when I was wrong to promptly admit it and to be ready to have God remove all my defects of character. When I turn my faults over to God, it helps to alleviate any guilt I'm feeling. Then I can go on to live as God wants me to live honoring Him.
Question 2- He would have seen his devotional life as a journey instead of looking at each stop on the way and criticizing every move he made.

I definitely feel that there is a difference between devotional life, and  devotional living. And yes, seeing the difference between the two, Wesley could’ve easily have saved himself the heartache of taking measurement.

It’s easy to see your flaws, and to see the flaws and others. But It is not as easy to see the good in people. Truly this should be the other way.
We are taught that that’s conceded and being prideful … I think the difference there is how you boast or not boast about the good in your life…. I don’t feel that having self pride in your accomplishments is a bad thing.
