Day 25 : Proper Preparation
Reflecting and Recording
How are your preparations for Communion like or unlike those of Wesley? What insights did you gain from his example?
Do you have any devotional material that helps you prepare for Communion? If so, plan to take it with you to this week’s group meeting.
Relating
Find out when the next celebration of the Lord’s Supper will take place in your
church. Follow Wesley’s pattern by beginning on Thursday evening to prepare
for proper reception.
Use your devotional periods on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday morning to
continue the preparation.
On Sunday, consider going into the sanctuary earlier than usual to bring your
preparation to maximum openness to God and to the grace offered you in the
Lord’s Supper.
