Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. (Gen 1:2)


The Spirit of the LORD will come powerfully upon you, and you will prophesy with them; and you will be changed into a different person. (1 Samuel 10:6)

Whenever I think about the Holy Spirit, I think about the New Testament first and I always wondered where He was in the Old Testament. The above verses tell me He was always there guiding God’s people just as He did in the New Testament and just as He does today.

1 Samuel 10–12


Saul among the prophets

And Samuel announces Saul to be the chosen king

Once again, Samuel address of the Israelites

And then confirms the new king.


 Reflection


Sounds heart is changed, “ and it was so, that when he had turned his back to go from, Samuel, God gave him another heart: and all those signs came to pass that day.” 1 Samuel.10:9


So here, Samuel is going to pass the reins over to Saul. And the Lord does confirm this choice. But once again God has Samuel talk to the people again. He confirms with Samuel not to be angry for the people who have not turned their back against Samuel. But yet they have…
