Blessings for Obedience


28 If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. 2 All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God:


Curses for Disobedience


15 However, if you do not obey the Lord your God and do not carefully follow all his commands and decrees I am giving you today, all these curses will come on you and overtake you.


The message from God is very clear, obedience to the Lord or be curse. They had heard and some witness this happening .

"If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth." (Deut 28:1)


The word "obey" is mentioned in the Bible 274 times. There's no mistaking its importance. In all of these instances, the consequence of disobedience is separation from God and His blessings.


I think back to all the times I tried to blame circumstances or anyone else but myself when my life turned upside down as a result of disobedience to God. I felt alone and deserted during those times. And, of course, I did. I walked away from the only One who could give me peace.

Blessings for obedience.


So, here is where we’re told about all the greatness, and the goodness that will happen to us and our family if we follow the obedience of God. Follow his commandments and do his goodwill. But we intern find out what would happen if we do not.


Personal reflection


This one’s a tough one for me.


When you’re a kid you’re supposedly very innocent. I’m sure I did things that defined my parents. Like stay up late. In stead of going to sleep. Eating that cookie before dinner even though I was told not to. Things like that . I was grounded for playing, instead of cleaning my room. Not eating all my dinner …
