"...as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will never leave you nor forsake you. Be strong and courageous...."(Joshua 1:5-6)
Joshua had an excellent teacher and role model in Moses. Yet, the Lord continually told Joshua to be strong and courageous and reminded him that He would be with him wherever he went. I wonder why He had to tell him that so many times. Was it reassurance? And if so, why was it needed?

He gives orders to the officers of the people
And then he sends out the spies
And the great crossing of the Jordan.

Reflection
As I see the exchange of leadership goes from Moses to Joshua. You hear the people say. We will listen to you as we did Moses. We will do as you command. As long as your God is with you.
Kind of makes me wonder if they actually are following God, or following, Moses, God, following Joshua’s God .
I wonder if that’s why they seem to miss the mark. The laws are given, then broken, and given again, then broken. If we really look at it.…
